It sounds incredible. A weather- and water-resistant material that looks and feels like wood. A material that is manufactured from sustainable raw materials and is resistant to water, sun, wind and cold. A material that saves resources, is hardly subject to wear and tear and is always of high quality.
After years of intensive research, a material has been developed that meets all the properties described above: GoodWood. A hybrid material that looks like wood with the properties of plastic.
Identical to tropical hardwood
Sustainably produced from recycled materials, GoodWood looks identical to tropical hardwood. It not only looks like wood, it also feels like real wood. GoodWood is sturdy and ideal for outdoor use. As a basis for this material, rice husks are mixed with 100 per cent recycled plastic. Because the material can be considered real wood, the boards and planks are further processed as in a traditional sawmill and transformed into tabletops and (outdoor) furniture with the look and feel of tropical hardwood.

Sustainable alternative
GoodWood is an even more sustainable alternative to tropical hardwood with an even more realistic look and feel. An innovative material that is coloured throughout and in which the characteristic wood grain can be felt. No tree needs to be felled for GoodWood. The material has a long lifespan and can be recycled again and again. After barely perceptible discolouration in the first week after exposure to the elements, there is colour stabilisation. GoodWood is low-maintenance, has high stain resistance and meets tomorrow's technical and ecological requirements today.

Mission Hospitality
GoodWood, the latest innovation in material development, fits seamlessly into Satelliet's Mission Hospitality. This manifesto - founded on the globally recognised guideline for CSR: ISO26000 - sets out the ambition to be the most sustainable supplier of hospitality furniture in Europe by 2030. This includes developing products and models consisting of at least 75 per cent sustainable, recyclable or recycled materials. GoodWood - a bio-based base material indistinguishable from real tropical hardwood - is an important step towards achieving these sustainability ambitions. Our GoodWood collection features a diverse furniture line of benches, stools, tables and tabletops.
